ANI/Exploit
ANI/Exploit takes advantage of vulnerability in Windows Animated Cursor Handling. This could allow remote code execution as explained in
the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-017.
All computers running Windows operating systems are vulnerable to this exploit. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by embedding malicious code into the antimated cursor file that could potentially allow remote code execution. An attacker should pursue the user to view a specially crafted email-message or visit a Web site that contains a Web page to exploit this vulnerability. If the attacker successfully exploits this vulnerability then this could allow the attacker to gain same user rights as the local user. Users with minimal user rights will be less impacted than users who have administrative privileges. However if the user has the administrative privileges then this vulnerability could allow the attacker to take complete control over the affected system. This exploit was discovered on March 28, 2007.
